Are 2 column reports possible

Is it possible to create a 2 column report in AR Reports Designer? I have a trick I did in SSRS that I think I could apply here, but I’m wondering if there is a cleaner way…like a menu option somewhere. I’m looking to make a report like this:

Header

Record1_Field1

Record2_Field1
Record1_Field2

Record2_Field2
Record1_Field3

Record2_Field3

Header

Record1_Field1      Record2_Field1
Record1_Field2      Record2_Field2
Record1_Field3      Record2_Field3

Record3_Field1      Record4_Field1
Record3_Field2      Record4_Field2
Record3_Field3      Record4_Field3

I think the answer is No. I ended up adding 2 tables and added a 1 and 2 column_no field to the SQL then filtering each table for the corect column_no.

Hello,

We are sorry to mention that there is no direct property for specifying the direction of Columns in a Multi-Column RDL report.
However, if the use-case permits, you may use ActiveReports SectionReport, and set its ‘ColumnDirection’ property of ‘Detail’ section to ‘AcrossDown’, doing this data first renders across all the columns before beginning rendering on the next row to its down.

I have attached a sample report for reference.

You may also like to visit the following documentation link for more information on the same:

Actually I had a solution I used when the report was in SSRS. I include a DisplayColumn field in the dataset…
(ROW_NUMBER() OVER (ORDER BY b.startdate) + 2- 1) % 2 + 1 as DisplayColumn
That gives me an alternating 1 and 2 value. Then I have 2 tables on the page, one left and one right, each filtering for the DisplayColumn. So, 1′s show up on the left and 2′s show up on the right.

Hello,

Since ActiveReports SectionReport already have the feature of displaying “Columnar report” with “AcrossDown” rendering of records (which can be achieved just by setting few properties at design time) using SectionReport seems to be a better option than applying the above mentioned workaround.
Therefore, I would like you to try using SectionReport and set Detail section’s “ColumnCount” and “ColumnDirection” in Designer
as mentioned earlier for meeting the desired report layout.

Let me know if you face any troubles using SectionReport.
