Exception while building, invalid license for Viewer

  • matteo_ar 11 months, 4 weeks ago

Dear folks, this is a very annoying problem I’m facing: every now and then, the first time I build a solution an exception occurs, saying that I don’t have a valid license:

“Exception occurred creating type ‘GrapeCity.ActiveReports.Viewer.Win.Viewer, GrapeCity.ActiveReports.Viewer.Win.v7, Version=7.3.8116.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=cc4967777c49a3ff’ System.ComponentModel.LicenseException: This application will be terminated because it was built with an invalid license for Viewer.”

So, I open License Manager and see my license status as “Invalid license”. I then click “Activate”, paste my license code and reactivate: good to go for a couple of days, when I’ll see that message again.

Any suggestion? Is there at least a way to call License Manager via command line, passing the license information?

    Thank you in advance,
    mt

    Hello mt,

    Regarding your issues :

    >>>>“Exception occurred creating type ‘GrapeCity.ActiveReports.Viewer.Win.Viewer, GrapeCity.ActiveReports.Viewer.Win.v7, Version=7.3.8116.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=cc4967777c49a3ff’ System.ComponentModel.LicenseException: This application will be terminated because it was built with an invalid license for Viewer.

I would suggest you to refer to the following forum posts which discuss similar issues and let me know if that does not works for you :

Please refer to the following blog post which discusses the issues of “Invalid License” and command line licensing with AR8. Same holds for AR7 as well :

Attached is the diagnostic utility for AR7. Share the diagnostic report if you still face the “Invalid License” error with AR7 after following command line licensing procedure.
